Robert V. “Bob” Duss

Bob, born in 1946, graduated from Amherst College in 1968 with honors with a B.A. degree. He then received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida in 1971 and began his law practice with his late father, John S. Duss, III, and in association with the late P. Fred Butler under the name Duss & Butler.  He practiced as a sole practitioner from 1990 until joining our firm in January 2003. His specialty areas are Probate and Real Estate, Landlord and Tenant Law and business and contract law.

Mr. Duss has a client base comprised of a number of clients he has represented for over 30 years. He is an approved closing attorney for a number of financial institutions. He has also represented a large national restaurant franchise in real estate transactions for many years. For over 20 years, Bob handled all acquisitions and sales of properties for a large convenience store chain. In that position, Mr. Duss had handled a number of eminent domain cases. Currently, he is an approved agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Mr. Duss has served as an officer and director for River Region Human Services and is presently Secretary for that organization. He was President of the Alliance Francaise of Jacksonville from 1990 to 2008 and is currently a member of its Board of Directors.
